Demand RCMP Investigation into Torture of Canadian Flotilla Activists

In May 2026, Israeli forces intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters and detained over 400 humanitarian activists, including at least 12 Canadian citizens. Survivors reported systematic torture, beatings, sexual assault, and rape. The Australian Federal Police launched a formal investigation — yet the RCMP has refused to act. Prime Minister Mark Carney and Foreign Minister Anita Anand have condemned the abuse as "appalling" and "deeply disturbing," but words without action are complicity. Canada has legal obligations under the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act, the Convention Against Torture, and the Rome Statute to investigate these crimes.
