Earlier this month, IOF war criminals responsible for genocide, occupation, and crimes against humanity visited UofT campus to deny the genocide and manufacture consent for the occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestine. The war criminals visited through the group “Front Line Advocates,” a propagandist program of the israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Two days ago, a new report from the United Nations was released that demonstrates that israel is still committing genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.
There exist both moral and legal obligations to prevent genocide. In Amnesty International’s December 2024 report, they called for the investigation and prosecution of suspected individuals and perpetrators of the genocide against the Palestinian people. UofT has failed in their obligations by allowing these war criminals on our campus.
When students at TMU protested IOF war criminals and genocidaires coming to their campus, an IOF war criminal assaulted the people of conscience. I stand in solidarity with the people who stood up against genocide, and am ashamed of institutions for allowing war criminals who advocate and enact genocide in Palestine to assault and harass brave people engaging in their moral duty to stand up against genocide.
There must be no place at UofT, or any campus, for those who, advocate for or enact genocide.
