San Francisco Supervisor Matt Dorsey has repeatedly made ignorant, inflammatory, and racist statements targeting Muslim and Palestinian advocacy organizations, particularly CAIR-SFBA and AROC. He has singled out and smeared the advocacy and organizing efforts of these civil rights organizations as "mob" behavior; amplified harmful stereotypes linking Palestinian advocacy to terrorism; consistently framed local ceasefire advocacy through an anti-Muslim lens; and peddled in the “good Muslim, bad Muslim” trope.
These statements and brazen disregard of San Francisco’s Muslim community are unacceptable from an elected official and demand accountability. Call on Supervisor Dorsey to issue a public apology and commit to respectful engagement with all communities.
